As Chief Executive Officer and President, Sanjay Poonen leads Cohesity in its mission to radically simplify how organizations manage their data and unlock limitless value.
Sanjay is a proven business executive with over 25 years of experience in scaling multi-billion dollar businesses and building strong teams. Most recently, Sanjay was COO at VMware, where he oversaw sales, marketing, services and alliances, doubling VMware from approximately $6B to $12B in revenue. Poonen played a vital role in architecting multiple successful cloud partnerships, including AWS, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle. He also led the company’s security and end-user computing businesses, including the acquisition of AirWatch and Carbon Black. Prior to VMware, Poonen served as President of SAP where he led SAP’s Applications, Industries and Platform teams, serving in engineering and sales roles that helped double SAP from approximately $10B to $20B in revenue.
He began his career as a software engineer at Microsoft and Apple. Sanjay has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated a Baker Scholar which designates his position in the top 5% of his graduating class, a master’s degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, math and engineering from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Sanjay holds two patents. Poonen serves on the Supervisory Board of Philips, and Board of Snyk.
Todd McKinnon
CEO and Co-Founder, Okta
Todd McKinnon is the CEO and co-founder of Okta, the leading independent Identity provider, which he co-founded in 2009 with Frederic Kerrest. Under Todd’s leadership, Okta has transformed the way millions of people access the digital world and put Identity at the forefront of security and business growth.
Todd’s experience as a leader and technology visionary spans more than 25 years, with deep roots in enterprise software and cloud transformation. Prior to Okta, he held leadership roles at Salesforce and PeopleSoft.
Todd earned his bachelor’s degree in management and information systems from Brigham Young University and his master’s in computer science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a husband and father, an advocate for equality and inclusion, an exercise addict, and a mountain bike enthusiast.
Tim Fleming
Director of Technology Services for Forsyth County Schools
Tim is the Director of Technology Services for Forsyth County Schools. He has a lengthy history in K-12 education, holding leadership positions as a Chief Technology and Information Officer, CTAE Director, high school principal, assistant principal, teacher, and school resource officer. Tim served his country as a United States Marine and locally as a police officer for the State of Georgia. Tim has been married for 30 years and has three children and one grandchild.
Brian Spanswick
Chief Information Security Officer, Cohesity
Brian brings 20 years of experience managing IT and cybersecurity organizations within high-growth companies, while also providing consulting services for large, globally dispersed blue-chip enterprises. His leadership is pivotal in advancing core business operations, accelerating digital transformations, and building cybersecurity protocols that secure company, customer, and employee data. Prior to Cohesity, Brian managed Risk and Information Protection at Splunk, leading and rapidly expanding the organization responsible for managing cyber risk across the company. Brian’s prior roles also include leading the digital transformation of core business functions for McKesson and Grainger. Brian holds a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Nathan Lee
Secret Service New York Field Office
I attended Southwest Texas State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (1999), and Masters’ Degree in Criminology (2001). From 2001-2002, I was an Associate Professor for Texas A&M and an Adjunct Professor for Southwest Texas State University.
I began my Federal Law Enforcement career in 2002 with US Customs, then moved to the US Secret Service in 2004 and remain there today.
From 2004-2011, I was in our Seattle Field Office. I investigated every aspect of our USSS directive (counterfeit, fraud, electronic crimes, threat investigations, etc). Concurrently, I received certifications in multiple areas of computer forensics, and ultimately created and ran the Electronic Crimes Task Force in Seattle.
From 2011-2017, I was assigned to my protection phase with Former President George H. W. Bush and Former First Lady Barbara Bush.
From 2017-2022, I was assigned to the Houston Field Office. I was recertified as a forensic examiner, worked a plethora of protective assignments throughout the world, and refocused on Cyber Crime investigations (Business Email Compromises, Ransomware, Jackpotting, Crypto, Etc).
2022-Current, I was promoted to the New York Field Office to oversee and participate in the Electronic Crimes Task Force, the Digital Evidence Forensic Lab, and the Mobile Wireless Investigations squads.
Brian Adair
Director, Systems Engineer, Cohesity
Brian Adair is a sales engineering leader working with customers in the fields of education and state and local government. Brian has over 20 years of experience in data protection and storage including previous roles as an end user, support engineer, sales engineer, and sales represe IBM, Sun Microsystems, EMC, and Nimble Storage.
Tonya Chin
Tonya Chin joined Cohesity in March 2022 and currently serves as the Group Vice President of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. She brings over two decades of experience in the technology industry, sharing corporate insights and narratives with internal and external constituents. Chin leads the company’s global communications functions and is responsible for promoting the overall reputation of Cohesity. Her responsibilities include media relations, industry analyst relations, employee communications, social media and investor relations. Prior to Cohesity, Chin was responsible for Communications, Corporate Marketing and Investor Relations at Nutanix. She also held leadership positions at Aruba Networks, Solectron, and Ernst and Young. Tonya holds a bachelor of science degree from Santa Clara University.
