TRIUMPH Becomes Private Firm, Welcomes New CEO Valladares

TRIUMPH Group, a trusted name in aerospace and defense systems, has officially transitioned to private ownership following its acquisition by renowned private equity firms Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners. With this milestone, the company embarks on a new era as an independent, privately-held business—poised to strengthen its role as a critical supplier of advanced aerospace systems and components.

Directing TRIUMPH into this new chapter is Jorge L. Valladares III, who takes on the position of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Dan Crowley, who led the company since 2016. Valladares has an extensive reservoir of expertise in the aerospace sector, most recently as COO of TransDigm. His recruitment reflects a firm determination to ensure TRIUMPH’s ongoing innovation, expansion, and operational excellence.

“I am privileged to assume the leadership of TRIUMPH and continue the tradition of engineering excellence that characterizes this business,” Valladares said. “Being able to work with such a skilled group of people and with the support of two extremely well-respected investment partners provides us with a strong foundation to drive our growth and serve our international customers even more effectively.”

With its heritage firmly established in the design and manufacture of mission-critical aerospace products—supporting original equipment manufacturers as well as the aftermarket—TRIUMPH has been a pillar of support for businesses throughout the commercial and defense aerospace industries. The transition to private ownership should provide TRIUMPH with greater ability to innovate and grow without the constraints of public markets.

Supporting this optimism are the private equity executives themselves. Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners have a proven track record in the aerospace and industrial markets and a shared vision of what’s possible for TRIUMPH’s future. Their investment is not only capital—it’s strategic, long-term, and designed to unlock new levels of performance and value.

Dan Crowley, looking back on his nearly ten years as leader, was optimistic about the future: “TRIUMPH is in good hands. The foundation that has been built over the years will continue to grow stronger under Jorge’s leadership and with Warburg and Berkshire as dedicated partners.”

As TRIUMPH embarks on this new and exciting chapter, it stays true to its purpose: providing high-performance, mission-critical solutions that keep the aerospace and defense community on the go.
