Moovit and European Sleeper Simplify Travel Planning and Payments

European Sleeper, the direct night train service that connects Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic is announcing its partnership with Moovit, the #1 commuter app used by over 1.5 billion users in 3,500 cities across 112 countries. European Sleeper passengers in Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Prague, can seamlessly plan and pay for their direct night train journeys — all from within the Moovit app.

European Sleeper is encouraging citizens across Europe and beyond to plan their journeys and pay for them, using the free Moovit app. Purchasing and validating transport tickets, via Moovit, has been enabled using Distribusion’s extensive transport ticketing network.

Once a user launches the Moovit app, inputs their destination and selects their route, Moovit will:

  • Display the total cost of the journey: Whether it’s a single bus journey, or transferring lines, Moovit will calculate and display the total, and breakdown, fare of the journey
  • Enable in-app ticket purchasing: Moovit users will be able to purchase their transport tickets directly in the app
  • Provide ticket validation via ticket booking confirmation email and PDF ticket

European Sleeper is one of the few private international train operators in Europe, linking four countries and capitals with a single night train. Since May 2023, it has run a thrice-weekly service from Brussels and Amsterdam to Berlin and Prague. The new route to Venice launched in the winter of 2025 enabling European Sleeper to expand the network of comfortable, eco-friendly night journeys.

Moovit’s free iOS, Android, and Web app combines official information from transport agencies as well as crowdsourced information to calculate the best route for each journey with urban mobility options like STIB, Brussels City Shuttle, NMBS/SNCB, UBER, 9292, Jelbi-App, and PID Lítačka. Moovit’s multimodal journey planning engine, coupled with mobile ticketing, will enable passengers to easily plan, pay, and ride.
