Skyworks Solutions, a world leader in high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, has announced a revolutionary family of timing devices that will revolutionize the design of clock trees for data centers, networking equipment, and industrial applications. The recently introduced SKY63104/5/6 jitter reducing clocks and SKY62101 ultra-low jitter clock generator are a breakthrough in terms of performance, flexibility, and integration. These products are designed using Skyworks’ fifth-generation DSPLL® and MultiSynth™ technologies and provide any-frequency, any-output clock generation in a small footprint.
But what really differentiates them? For the first time in the market, one device can produce both Ethernet and PCI Express® (PCIe) spread-spectrum clocks at the same time — and with ultra-low jitter performance that’s virtually unequaled. Consider 18 femtoseconds RMS phase jitter levels, optimal for the latest 224G PAM4 Ethernet SerDes and PCIe Gen 6 speeds of up to 64GT/s.

From AI and cloud computing to industrial imaging and high-speed networking, today’s systems require timing accuracy that keeps pace with increasing data rates and complexity. These new Skyworks clocks are built with exactly that future in mind. Whatever you’re developing out – 800G+ optical links, SmartNIC cards, or AI accelerators – these clocks deliver the high-integrity signal generation you require — along with the flexibility to support Ethernet, PCIe, and general-purpose outputs all from one IC.Skyworks Vice President and General Manager of Mixed Signal Solutions James Wilson said:
“Our leading DSPLL® and MultiSynth™ technologies raise the performance and integration bar, allowing our customers to significantly simplify clock generation in their most challenging applications.”

The SKY63104/5/6 and SKY62101 clocks provide 12 outputs in a small 8x8mm QFN package and accommodate a wide frequency span of 8kHz to 3.2GHz, with several configurable formats such as LVDS, HCSL, LVCMOS, among others. The designers will benefit from the low skew outputs, accurate delay calibration, and EMI reduction support via spread-spectrum clocking. But it’s not only about specs — it’s about making complexity simple. By converging PCIe, Ethernet, and general-purpose timing requirements into a single device, engineers can simplify their designs, minimize BOM counts, and hit the market earlier. Configuration is simplified through ClockBuilder Pro, Skyworks’ easy-to-use software tool, and the devices provide hitless switching and compliance with primary telecom and industrial timing standards such as SyncE, G.812, and Stratum-3E.
