Nash, Rincell Partner for Battery Manufacturing in India

In a move that could reshape India’s battery manufacturing landscape, Bengaluru-based Nash Energy and US-based Rincell Corporation have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring high-performance, locally manufactured NMC battery cells to India.

This partnership is more than just a technology deal—it’s a shared vision to accelerate India’s transition to clean energy and electric mobility. Rincell, known for its next-generation rechargeable cell chemistries, will transfer its proprietary high-C rate cell technology to Nash Energy. In turn, Nash Energy, already a trailblazer as the country’s first mass-scale manufacturer of cylindrical lithium-ion LFP cells, will take the lead in commercializing and producing these advanced NMC cells for the Indian market.

At the heart of this collaboration is a clear mission: to build a Giga-scale cell manufacturing plant in India, capable of supporting multi-chemistry production. This will empower Indian industries—especially those in drones, defense, aerospace, and electric vehicles—with reliable, high-energy battery solutions that are made in India, for India.

With over 15 domestic and international clients already on board, Nash Energy plans to scale production in phases, aligning with customer demand and commercial rollouts. The partnership isn’t just about building batteries; it’s about building a roadmap together, with both companies working closely with Tier-1 and Tier-2 customers to co-develop the next wave of battery innovation.
